Circle Cloud

Circle Cloud help small and medium-sized businesses with IT support, cloud services and cybersecurity. These services are essential, but can be hard to explain. So that’s what we set out to do with their new website.

A company with a technical mission

Circle Cloud know technology inside out, but most of the people who rely on them don’t. Their customers are business owners, not IT specialists, so the website needed to build trust with people who don’t always know what good IT looks like. And it needed to do it in language that felt approachable, rather than technical. The website also had to be something that the Circle Cloud team could keep up-to-date themselves, instead of relying on a developer.

A website that does the explaining

We started with the structure, not the design. We worked out the customer journey: how someone with an IT problem actually thinks; what they’d search for; and what they’d need to know before trusting someone with their systems. Then we constructed the site around that, with service pages organised by what visitors are really looking for.

The design needed to feel modern and credible enough to be trusted with something as serious as cybersecurity, but also clear enough to provide clarity to non-technical people. We built it around Circle Cloud’s own brand, using images of the Circle Cloud team to create trust, rather than stock photos of people in headsets.

Underneath, it’s a fully responsive WordPress site, built to work as well on a phone as it does on a desktop. Speed, accessibility and search performance were all considered from the start. We built it using flexible templates and reusable content blocks, so the Circle Cloud team can update pages themselves, without needing outside help every time something changes.

The website’s copy has two jobs: to explain complicated services in plain English; and to rank for the services Circle Cloud’s customers are searching for online. Importantly, every page is designed to lead somewhere. Clear calls to action were created to generate leads, based on real user journeys. Enquiry forms, a newsletter sign-up and downloadable resources were all put in place, so interested visitors have somewhere to go, instead of just bouncing off the page.

What Circle Cloud have now is a website that earns trust before anyone’s even spoken to their sales team, and one that can keep growing as the business does.

If your website’s making something sound complicated, or impossible to explain, just get in touch.
